The husband is to exercise the government and leadership of the home. God says that "the husband is the head of the wife." Ephesians 5:22, 23. He is the protector, provider, priest, the strong, the noble. He should be the glory of his children and the joy of his wife. Proverbs 17:6; Ephesians 5:24, 25, 23 (read the Amplified Translation of this). 15. HOW SHOULD HUSBANDS REGARD THEIR WIVES? "Husbands, love your wives…as Christ also loved…love their wives as their own bodies…every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself…" Ephesians 5:23-25. 16. WHAT IS THE WIFE'S POSITION IN THE HOME? The wife is to be a help MEET for her husband. God has so constructed woman that she is a wonderful compliment to man. Faith, spiritual insight and a sympathetic, loving nature were created within her that she might be his source of encouragement and strength in times of difficulty and distress. Genesis 2:18. 17. HOW SHOULD WIVES REGARD THEIR HUSBANDS? Wives should be in subjection to their husbands so that they might please God. A saved woman can actually win an unbelieving husband to Christ by her willful subjection and godly life. 1 Peter 3:1, 2 (Amplified).
