WHAT IS THE REASON THAT THE GIFTS AND CALLINGS OF GOD DO NOT ALWAYS ACCOMPANY CONFIRMATION? The gifts and callings of God that come through prophecy at confirmation are dependent upon the recipient's attitude and sanctification. Romans 12:2. 9. HOW CAN STRENGTH, ESTABLISHMENT, SPIRITUAL GIFTS AND GRACES BE IMPARTED BY THE LAYING ON OF HANDS AND PROPHECY? Through the laying on of hands and prophecy, there is an impartation of the creative Spirit of God which strengthens and establishes His people. By the inspired word of prophecy, spiritual gifts and graces are spoken into being. God will go to great lengths to fulfill the word of His prophets. 1 Timothy 1:18; 4:14; 1 Thessalonians 5:19-21; 2 Chronicles 20:20. Moses imparted wisdom to Joshua, Numbers 17:15-23; Deuteronomy 31:7, 8; 34:9. Elijah imparted a double portion to Elisha, 2 Kings 2:9-15. 10. WHAT IS THE VOW WE RENEW WITH GOD IN CONFIRMATION? The vow we renew with God in confirmation is the vow made by our parents in dedication - our life is dedicated for service to God and His Kingdom. Ecclesiastes 5:4, 5. "The God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus…make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen." 1 Peter 5:10, 11.
