God And His Word - A Question And Answer Approach To Understanding The Bible

61. "Also every sickness and every plague which is not written in the book of the law." Read the entire 28th chapter of Deuteronomy. 10. HOW CAN I BE HEALED? We receive healing when we exercise faith in the provision Christ made for our healing at Calvary. We must ASK Him in FAITH believing, for this benefit He purchased for us. Matthew 7:7. 11. IS FAITH NECESSARY FOR HEALING? Yes. Without faith, we receive nothing from God. Hebrews 11:6; Mark 6:5, 6; Matthew 9:29; 22; Luke 7:50. 12. WHAT IS FAITH? Faith is believing that God will do what He has said in His Word that He will do. In the case of healing, the individual must believe what the Bible says about healing, and then act upon it. Hebrews 11:l; Romans 10:17. 13. HOW IS HEALING ADMINISTERED? Healing can be administered in five ways: A. Personal prayer. James 5:16. B. The sick should call for the elders to come and anoint. James 5:14, 15. C. The believer's hands can administer healing. Mark 16:17, 18. D. The spoken Word. Psalms 107:20; Matthew 8:16. E. Outside helps. Acts 19:11, 12 (cloths); Mark 7:33; 8:23 (spittal). 14. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN PREVENT ME FROM BEING HEALED? Sin, in its various forms, will separate us from the benefits of God. Unbelief is the most common reason healing is denied. Unconfessed, unforgiven sin and failure to make restitution also can prevent us from receiving from God. Psalms 66:18; Isaiah 59:2; Matthew 6:15; 5:23, 24; Hebrews 11:6; James 1:6, 7; 1 Corinthians 11:30. 15. WHY IS HEALING SOMETIMES DELAYED? Many times healing is seemingly withheld from us for a time to teach us patience or to give us a greater understanding of God and His ways. When the purpose for which we have been made subject to sickness and disease is accomplished, we are always delivered from our afflictions. l Peter 4:19; 5:10; Psalms 103:1-6.
