how often you go to church or even if your name is Mother Teresa... the Devil has sown lies into your life. From the time of your birth, your enemy has been seeking opportunities to lie to you. Jesus promised us that in the world we would experience trouble. So no matter how sheltered you were as a child, pain and loss have and will come your way. It comes to us all. In these times, the forces of darkness are waiting to give you a message. The message is a lie born out of true events. When bad things happen, the enemy will answer the ‘why question’ with a fabrication meant to destroy you. We have a ministry at Life Church called Life Change. It is a weekend workshop where we expose the enemies lies and reveal God's truth about who you really are in Christ. We've had well over a thousand people go through this intensive weekend and we hear the same lies over and over again. This doesn't mean they're not effective, because they are. There are other strategies that add weight to these lies. He will sometimes have a person of influence in your life say the lie directly to you. He will orchestrate circumstance to be repeated in your life to confirm the truth of the lie. He will remind you of the lie over and over again until it becomes part of your self-talk. He will pile shame upon you so that you isolate yourself from discovery. In one of our workshops a gal in her late thirties confessed that she had been raped over 20 ago when she was a teenager. She had never told anyone, not her parents, not her husband, not her friends, not a counsellor...no one! This secret became the place of shame in her heart that altered her personality, Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
