from the love of God is me! Our enemy will never stop sowing lies into your world. We walk away by listening to the lie. Even then His love doesn’t stop, but my agreement with a lie empowers the enemy of my soul to control me. So if he can get you to believe God doesn’t love you, he wins. In the end it’s the same thing. Being born the third of four brothers was a set up for being very competitive. I always had two older brothers who were bigger, stronger and better at most things. My need to win became a passion. It also got me in a lot of fights with my brothers, which usually ended in tears...mine! As with most things, this imprint in my youth carried into adulthood. I actually quit playing Backgammon with my wife because she always won. I played a lot of basketball at the local athletic club because it fed my need for competition. I also took up the game of Golf. It has become a wonderful tool for my humbling and carries a lot of spiritual lessons. It is antithetical to many sports. Golf requires balance, timing, peace and a calm composure. Swinging harder will not usually make the ball go farther. Allowing frustration over one bad shot can cause a complete meltdown of your game. To conquer with Christ also requires peace. Remember, He is the Prince of Peace. True victory in life flows from rest and peace. Don't misunderstand me. Living in victory is a lot of hard work, but selfish ambition will be counterproductive. Christ has purchased your victory and no amount of striving will help you to the finish line. Think about someone you would consider to be a hero. I think my Mom is a hero. She never knew her father. He had run off when she was a toddler. The result of his absence was a house supported by welfare and the pooled resources of her
