Forty Days Full - An Invitation To Real Life
molding your life through the Spirit is your ability to wait. Like every other fruit, it is a supernatural work of God. Now, not all waiting is God doing a work in your life. Fear can immobilize us. Laziness can cause a lack of action. Disobedience can send us around the same mountain again and again. But wherever we are at in our journey, “...let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” ( 1:4 James NKJV). Life is like a train trip across the country. I get to decide how I experience the journey. Will frustration be my companion? Will I feel like I'mwasting my time? Or, will I watch the scenery and enjoy the people traveling with me. So many of us live our life with an expectation of the destination. When I get out of school... When I buy that new car... When I get my last kid through college... When I finally pay off the mortgage... When I get that promotion... When I get to the age of retirement... Then! I will find fulfillment and live happily ever after. That is a poor life plan! Do we have to get old before we can be happy and experience lasting joy? I cannot live the next 365 days any faster. God has given us one day at a time. The life God has given us is not merely a span of time, but a quality of existence. So stop pacing the aisles and counting the miles. Instead, climb more mountains, eat more ice cream, go barefoot more often, swim more rivers, watch more sunsets, laugh more, cry less. Go ahead and enjoy the ride.
Today's Focus
