only describing our future blessing, but it is experiencing His heavenly life now! We can attempt to serve Christ and not know Christ. We can be so busy with kingdom work, that we miss living with the King. It is essential to understand that God doesn't love you because He's required to. God loves you because He actually likes you. You are His Son or Daughter and He is filled with affection for you. Is a good father angry with their child for being young? Of course not! A good father celebrates every stage of development and growth. He delights in it. Being patient, is trusting God to do with you what He said He'd do. He's the one who started the work in you and He's the one who will finish it. Life is journey to be lived, not just a burden to be borne. Being patient means I have an eternal perspective “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9 NIV) There is almost always a delay between the receiving of Gods promise and its fulfillment. We can see this pattern in the lives of many bible heroes. Abraham waited 25 years before Isaac, the promised son, was born. This is a promise he received when he was 75 years old. David waited about 15 years after he was anointed by Samuel to be the next king of Israel. He became a fugitive and the leader of a group of outcast militia as he ran from king Saul who was trying to kill him. Joseph waited 13 years after God gave him dreams of leading his family. He was sold as a slave by his brothers, accused falsely and thrown into prison. Joshua had to wait 40 years to enter the promised land. He was forced to wait for a whole generation of rebellious people to die before his dream could be fulfilled. Patience means waiting for what you want. One evidence that God is
