The moment of reckoning was here. This "American spy and Christian" (as they identified me) had been captured. Now the officials would get some answers as to why so many of the pris oners needed less attention from the doctors and were so peaceful and well-behaved. Even the work crews were more productive and crime and rebellion, fights and escape attempts had all decreased as a witness that the ways of God are better than hatred and anger. "Love never fails" (1 Corinthians 13:8). In my concern for others I was immediately conscious that others were also being detained and questioned.
