Beginning Tomorrow Today - By Timothy Sherman
of His cross, and confidence in it, gives us boldness for growth. "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he" (Proverbs 23:7). We are told by the apostle Paul to cast down wrong imaginations or meditations when they are being repeated over and over in the mind. "Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedi ence when your obedience is fulfilled" (2 Corinthians 10:5-6). Thoughts are very powerful i f we believe them in our heart. When we apply the blood ofJesus to these thoughts in our heart at all times, it keeps our thought life clean. What happens in your mind will happen in time when you focus upon it and believe it. Jesus taught that heart thoughts and pictures attract, "For out of the abun dance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things" (Matthew 12:346-35). The Law ofAttraction was originally taught by Jesus. When you strongly focus on the pure things that are in your new heart your higher dreams are brought forth from wherever these things are peo ple, places and things, natural or spiritual. These things will be drawn to you as if you were a magnet or point of empowered attraction; Jesus said so in the Scripture we just read. Our kingdom-visualizing he.art is like the migratory homeland to which geese and salmon instinctively and automatically return. We sum up the importance of knowing we have the treasure of the King and His Kingdom in our heart: ''Also He has put eternity in their hearts" (Ecclesiastes 3:11). "For thus says the High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy" (Isaiah 57:15a). The confidence that comes from the supernatural power of God in our lives is evident when we think and imagine in alignment with Him. These intimate things of the heart (thoughts, imaginations, pictures, visions) are deeply established within us through the focus and meditation on Jesus during worship and during loving intercession by the Spirit of God within us. 108
