disciples. A mob with flashing torches and clanking swords arrives to take Him captive, led by a betrayer with a seared conscience. Jesus meets His tormentors with majestic confidence, clothed with power that comes only from time spent in the Father’s presence. There He stands with human ropes binding His body, but His soul is free indeed! He knows what God’s will is, and He moves forward with eager anticipation to see it brought to glorious climax. Death holds no fear now, and joyfully, Jesus sets to finish His course and put an end to man’s last enemy.
