Astounding as it may seem, we may, in one moment, deal with the advancement of the kingdom throughout the world, and then talk to Him in the next moment about the day-to-day matters of our personal lives. We may ask God to oversee our financial affairs. We may talk to him about a vacation or more suitable transportation. Constantly affirm the Father’s control of your life. Although the Bible tells us that money is the root of all evil, it has steadily become society’s massive idol. Saying this prayer will cause more funds to go into missions than into personal frivolities. In return, an amazing feeling of security will envelope your life as you put your trust in Him for your daily provision. 6. FOCUS ON FORGIVENESS: Time is needed to pray for a spirit of forgiveness, and willingness to acknowledge past failures. “Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors” The word “debts” here can refer to sins or trespasses, not just financial liability. What does it mean to forgive? Remember this definition: “to forgive” is to grant free pardon to a person who has offended you, to cease to feel resentment against or desire for revenge. Forgiveness deals with our emotional response toward an offender. We may not always have the legal authority to pardon an offense (as when a murder is committed), but we can always forgive.
