The Time Is Now - Developing A Lifestyle Of Prayer
life as a leader: Ephesians 1:16; Romans 1:9-lOa; 1 Thessalonians3:10; 2 Timothy 1.3.
3. Whether you 're a leader or not, how can your prayer model become a ministry to others (1 Peter 5:2-3; Philippians3:17)?
B. Pray faithfully for the people under your care. This is the most important strategy in this entire lesson, because prayer is the most loving thing you can do for others. Start praying faithfully and systematically for people (keeping a list helps most people). Your prayers will impact those people's lives more greatly than anything else you do for them. 4. Some thinkJethros primary advice in&wdus 18:17-21 was that Moses delegate his work to others. But what was actuallyfirst onMoses'job description (18:19-21)? Why is this significant to you?
5. Read Colossians 1:9-11. Jhis is a prayer God loves to answer. Choose three of Pauls phrases and describe what will happenfor the people under your care as God fulfills each one.
C. Recruit people to pray for you as leader. This is the second most important strategy. Ask a few individuals, preferably from your family or ministry, to pray for your leadership effectiveness. You'll find confidence and security in the face of an enemy who targets leaders. "The most underutilized source of spiritual power in our churches today is intercession for Christian leaders. I purposely did not say 'one of the most underutilized sources of power' because I do not think anything else this important is actually so neglected." -C. Peter Wagne1; Prayer Shield
