"broken." It's quite common for long-term stress to deplete important chemicals in the body's nervous system, causing temporaty depression. That can be corrected if the body and spirit are given the right kind of emotional and physical resources for restoration. God has created us as integrated beings. Our bodies, minds, and emotions work together as an inter linked whole. Because of this, there's absolutely no shame in recognizing a physical contrib utor or a partial physical solution to a spiritual and emotional problem. Finally, above all else, seek God as a Father-not a senile, marshmallow of a grandfa ther, nor a dictatorial ogre, but a wise Father who loves you with both truth and grace. He's a Father you can trust, and if you approach Him consistently with a desire to learn to trust Him, He will change you, releasing you from your fears by showing you gradually who He really is, entrusting you with His own vulnerable, open heart. He's been burned, too, and He knows how it feels. He welcomes even your feeble, early efforts, and He understands and for gives your weaknesses. He longs for your company even more than you long for His. He treas ures you enough that He paid for you with His Son. Indeed, you can learn to trust a Father like that.
