Concerning His ascension , Jesus would: 1. physically ascend after His resurrection ( Thou hast ascended on high - Psa 68:18, Jn 6:62/ Lk 24:51) According to the Bible, there are 5 verses that prophesy about Gentile enlightenment. The phrase “Day of the Lord” is referred to 27 times in the OT and was always connected to the Second Coming of Christ (Joel 1:15 & 2:1-2,11,31 & 3:14, Amos 5:18,20, Isa 2:12,20 & 13:6,9 & 34:8, Obad 15, Ezk 30:3, Zeph 1:7-10,14- 15,18 & 2:2-3 & 3:8, Zech 14:1 and Mal 4:5). However, according to the following three passages in the New Testament, the scope of the Day of the Lord broadened to include: 1. The entire 3½-year Great Tribulation ( I Thess 5:2 -4) (Dan 9:27 & 12:1, Jere 30:5-8 and Isa 66:7-8) 2. The Second Coming of Christ and Armageddon (Acts 2:20) ( Rev 3:3 b & 6:5,6-8 a ) 3. The entire 1000-year millennial reign of Christ (II Pet 3:10,12) According to the New Testament, the Day of the Lord, which now includes the Great Tribulation, will begin 3½ years before the Second Coming of Christ. That “ DAY ” and/or “ HOUR ” ( Rev 3:3,10 and Mt 24:42-43 ) will begin when the Antichrist sets himself up as God in Jerusalem midway through the Tribulation (Dan 9:27 & 12:11, Rev 13:5-8 and II Thess 2:3-4) and will encompass 3½ years (Dan 7:25 & 12:7,11, Lk 21:24 and Rev 11:2 & 12:6,14 & 13:5) of the darkest (I Thess 5:2,4 and Isa 13:9-10), most wrathful (I Thess 5:9, Isa 24:1-14,17-20 & 26:20, Zeph 3:8 and Rev 12:12), and destructive time this earth has ever known (I Thess 5:3, Jere 30:5-8, Isa 66:7-8, Dan 12:1 and Mt 24:12-24,26,29,33-34). There are 111 verses that prophesy of the Great Tribulation, 283 verses that prophesy about the Second Coming, 56 verses that prophesy about an Armageddon, and 6 verses that prophesy about rewards for OT saints.
