PSALMS 126:2

2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. 3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. 4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall nei- ther slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is 1 thy shade upon thy right hand. 6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. 8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. Psalm 122 A psalm of King David ; A song of degrees Date Written - Unknown 1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the 2 HOUSE OF THE LORD . 2 Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem. 3 Jerusalem is builded as a city that is 3 compact together: 4 Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD. 5 For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David. 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. 7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosper- ity within thy palaces. 8 For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. 9 Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good. Psalm 123 Unknown Psalmist ; A song of degrees [Probably written sometime during the Babylonian captivity - Ezk 1:1] Date Written - c. 592 BC 1 Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens. 2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mis- tress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us. 3 Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have- mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

4 Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at 4 ease, and with the contempt of the proud. Psalm 124 A psalm of King David ; A song of degrees Date Written - Unknown 1 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say; 2 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us: 3 Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us: 4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul: 5 Then the proud waters had gone over our soul. 6 Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. 7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. 8 Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 125 Unknown Psalmist ; A song of degrees Date Written - Unknown 1 They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. 2 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever. 3 For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righ- teous put forth their hands unto iniquity. 4 Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts. 5 As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel. Psalm 126 Unknown Psalmist ; A song of degrees [Probably written sometime after the Babylonian captivity - Ezra 3:1] Date Written - c. 536 BC 1 When the LORD turned again the cap- tivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. 2 Then was our mouth filled with laugh- ter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath

122:3 The earliest known name for Jerusalem was Salem ( Gen 14:18b and Psa 76:2), of which Melchizedek (Gen 14:18a) was king. Jerusalem is also the place where Abraham was called to sacrifice Isaac (Gen 22:1-8,14), who depicted CHRIST (Heb 11:17-19).
