PSALMS PSALMS 6. Whereas Joseph Smith and the Mormons practiced polygamy, believing that CHRIST himself was a polygamist, the Bible plainly states that Jesus never married nor authorized plural marriages (Mt 19:3-9). Brigham Young, Joseph Smith’s successor, taught that Mary and Martha (Lazarus’ sisters) and Mary Magdalene were the wives of Christ and that the bridal feast in Cana of Galilee was the occasion of one of Christ’s own marriages. If Brigham Young’s statement is true, then Christ contradicted his own teachings. Multiple marriages were never a part of God’s original plan when He created man and woman (Gen 2:21-24). 7. Whereas Joseph Smith and the Mormons believe that both grace and works are needed for salvation, the Bible plainly teaches that salvation is by grace and grace alone (Eph 2:8-9). In his book Why I Am a Mormon , former U.S. Senator Wallace F. Bennett stated: The Mormons reconcile the apparent conflict between “grace” and “works.” We see both as needed for complete salvation. 6 If Mormonism is true and salvation is a mixture of grace and works, then the Bible is not true because Romans 11:6 states that grace and works cannot coexist. 8. Whereas Joseph Smith and the Mormons believe that baptismal regeneration is necessary for salvation, the Bible plainly teaches that only the Gospel saves (I Cor 15:1-4, Rom 1:16 and Eph 1:13), baptism not being a part of the Gospel ( I Cor 1:17 ). Note the nine glaring differences between Mormonism and Christianity : 1. In Christianity the Word of God is final It is all we need. The cannon of inspiration was closed 2,000 years ago and those who try to add to it, “ God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: ” (Rev 22:18-19). 2. In Christianity God is not a man nor was he ever a man (Num 23:19); m an cannot become a God and create his own world (Gen 3:5) God is an eternal Spirit without a beginning or an end (Jn 4:24 and Mic 5:2). CHRIST is the Creator of the creature Satan. 5. In Christianity Christ was not created (Jn 1:1) Jesus was not birthed into this world via a man (Adam) who became a god. He was virgin-born as stated by the Scriptures (Isa 7:14 and Mt 1:22-23). 6. In Christianity Christ never married He came to do one thing –pay the price for the sins of mankind (Heb 12:2). 7. In Christianity salvation is by grace alone 8. In Christianity only the Gospel saves You cannot add anything to it in order to obtain salvation. 84:10 A day serving God ( a day in thy courts ) is better than one thousand days serving self. 893 3. In Christianity ELOHIM did not create JEHOVAH The FATHER did not sire (or, create) the SON . 4. In Christianity Christ is not Satan’s brother or even half-brother
