18 1 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: 19 But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer. 20 Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me. Psalm 68 A psalm of King David [Probably written when King David (39 years old) brought the Ark back to Jerusalem - I Chro 16:1 & II Sam 6:12-23] Date written - c. 1041 BC/AM 2959 1 5 Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him. 2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. 3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them 6 exceedingly rejoice. 4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens 7 by his name JAH, and rejoice before him. 5 8 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. 6 God setteth the 9 solitary in 10 families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. 23 24 That thy foot may be dipped in the blood of thine enemies, and the tongue of thy dogs in the same. P 68:18a Ephesians 4:7-11 quotes this scripture, pointing to the “ascension” of CHRIST . Therefore, CHRIST is “ Adonahy-Jehovah ” (The Divine Ruler; The Sovereign Lord - Gen 15:2 ). 68:18b The OT text from which this is taken (Jud 5:12) depicts CHRIST as a future victorious warrior leading His people’s defeated foes (the Devil and those who had held the people of God in captivity – Eph 4:8) in triumphal procession ( captive ).
