PSALMS 49:5
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. 6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth 1 melted. 7 The LORD OF HOSTS (Heb.— JE HOV AH - SABAOTH) is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. 8 Come, behold the works of the LORD, 2 what desolations he hath made in the earth. P 9 2 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; 3 he burneth the chariot in the fire. P 10 2 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be 4 exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. P 11 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. 1 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. 2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great 8 KING . 3 God is known in her palaces for a refuge. 4 For, lo, 9 the kings were assembled, they passed by together. 5 They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, 10 and hasted away. 6 Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail. 7 Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind. 8 As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: 11 God will establish 12 it for ever. Selah. P 9 We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple. 10 According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness. 11 Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments. 12 Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof. 13 Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following. 14 For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death. 46:10 When you stop chasing the wrong things ( Be still ), you give the right things a chance to catch you ( and know that I amGod ). 47:7 According to the Bible, the message within the music must always be louder ( with understanding ) than the music. God is not against new songs of praise being written and sung. He is not against clapping one’s hands, playing instruments loudly (Psalm 98), or even dancing unto the LORD (Exo 15:20-21, Jud 11:34, II Sam 6:14 and Psa 30:11 & 149:3 & 150:4). As long as the message is always louder ( with understanding ) than the music, God is “all right” with the rest ( Gen 4:21 ).
