PSALMS 22:23
7 6 All they that see 8 ME laugh me to scorn: 9 they shoot out the lip, they shake the head saying, P 8 10 HE trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him. P 9 11 But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother’s breasts. 10 Iwas cast upon thee fromthewomb: 12 thou art my God from my mother’s belly. 11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help. 12 Many bulls have compassed 13 ME : strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round. P 13 They gaped upon 6 ME with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion. P 14 I am poured out like water, and all 14 MY bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels. 15 15 MY strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death. P 16 For 16 dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced 14 MY hands and my feet. P 17 14 I may tell all my bones: 17 they look and stare upon me. P 18 18 They part MY garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture. P 19 But be not thou far fromme, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee to help me. 20 Deliver my soul from the sword; my 19 darling from the power of the 20 dog. 21 Save me from the 21 lion’s mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns. 22 22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee. 23 Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.
6 For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance. 7 For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved. 8 Thine hand shall find out all 1 thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee. 9 Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them. 10 Their 2 fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men. 11 For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform. 12 Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them. 13 Be thou exalted, LORD, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power. Psalm 22 A psalm of King David [Probably written when King David (60 years old) hid from his son Absalom in Mahanaim - II Sam 17:26] Date Written - c. 1020 BC/AM 2980 1 3 My GOD , my GOD , why hast thou forsaken ME ? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? P 2 O my God, I cry in the 4 daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the 5 night season, and AM not silent. PP 3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. 4 Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them. 5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded. 6 But 6 I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and 7 despised of the people. PSA 22:1 CHRIST quoted these words during the last moments He was on the cross (Mt 27:46). When He cried, “ My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me ,” He was not stating that GOD THE FATHER was his God (or even Creator), as some cults teach. Clearly, the FATHER , the SON , and the HOLY SPIRIT are three distinct co-eternal persons, called the Godhead ( Gen 1:1 c, 26 a , Deut 6:4 , Ezk 3:24 and Rom 1:20 b ). They are all equally God and each O N E is worthy of our worship ( Jn 4:20-25, Jn 9:35-38 and Acts 5:4 ). NOTE CHRIST was directing his cries to both GOD THE FATHER and GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT .
