PSALMS 18:11
the night seasons. 8 1 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 9 1 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in 2 hope. P 10 1 For thou wilt not leave 3 my soul 4 in hell; 5 neither wilt thou suffer thine 6 HOLY ONE 2 to see corruption. P 11 1 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. READ NEXT - I Samuel 23:29 - 24:1 Psalm 17 A psalm of David [Probably written when David (26 years old) fled from King Saul near Maon - I Sam 23:26] Date Written - c. 1054 BC/AM 2946 1 Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of 7 feigned lips. 2 Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal. 3 Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress. 4 Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer. 5 Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not. 6 I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech. 7 Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them. 8 Keep me as 8 the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of 9 THY WINGS , 9 From the wicked that oppress me, from my 10 deadly enemies, 11 who compass me about. 10 They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly. 11 They have now 11 compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth; 12 Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey,
and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places. 13 Arise, O LORD, disappoint 12 him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword: 14 From men which are thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes. 15 As for me, 13 I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, 14 with thy likeness. P READ NEXT - I Samuel 23:27,28 Psalm 18 A psalm of King David [Written after King David (45 years old) defeated the surrounding heathen - II Sam 8:15 & 22:1-51] Date Written - c. 1035 BC/AM 2965 1 I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. 2 The LORD is my 15 ROCK , and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, 16 in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. 3 I will call upon the LORD, 17 who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. 4 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. 5 The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me. 6 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears. 7 18 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth. 8 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet. 10 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind. 11 He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies. 17:8 In order to become the “focus” of God ( the apple of the eye ), one must remain “focused” on what God “focuses” upon. According to the Bible, God “focuses” His attention upon four items of interest to Him: 1. The nation of Israel (where Christ was birthed – Rom 9:1-5 and Mic 5:1-2) 2. Jerusalem (where Christ died, was buried and rose again - Lk 9:51, Mt 16:21-24 and Gen 22:1-8) 3. His Word (where all His promises are fulfilled in Christ, His best last WORD - Jn 1:1,14, Heb 1:1-3 and Gen 3:15) 4. People (like David) who are interested in the first three items
