1. Gen 3:17-19 2. See Chart #1 - From Adam To Shem in the back of Genesis 3. “ Jehovah ” Note - In this case Jehovah is referring to God the Father - Gen 2:4b . 4. Mt 12:31-32 5. Gal 5:17 catastrophic event which God used to annihilate mankind did not initally flow from a furious fist... but from a broken heart ( and it grieved him at his heart ). God isn’t some stoic, emotionless, distant deity, but rather a Being whose heart breaks at having to wash clean with the waters of judgment what man had polluted. Ironically, the only way God could save humanity was to destroy it and begin again. 6. Num 13:33 7. Note - The

32 And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah 2 begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Genesis 6 God’s judgment upon man’s wickedness (Human apostasy reaches to Heaven calling for judgment) 1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 3 And the 3 LORD said, My 4 SPIRIT shall not always strive with man, for that he also is 5 flesh : yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years . 4 There were 6 giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. 5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, 7 and it grieved him at his heart. 7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth ; both man , and beast , and the creep- ing thing , and the fowls of the air ; for it re- penteth me that I have made them . Noah (c. 540 years old) finds grace Date - c. 2404 BC/AM 1596 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

26 And Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters: 27 And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died. The birth of Noah Date -2944 BC/AM 1056 28 And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son: 29 And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground 4 which the LORD hath cursed. Historical Note - Egyptian history continued c. 2700 BC with the Old Kingdom Period in which the construction of the three great pyramids near Cairo were built. Nothing better illustrates the extent of the Pharaoh’s royal power than these great pyramids, which were built as tombs for the pharaohs. Around seventy- two years before Jared died, an Egyptian named Zozer (c. 2650 BC) designed the Step Pyramid at Sakkarah. Imhotep is said to have built it. One hundred years later (when Noah was about 394 years old) an Egyptian Pharaoh named Khufu (c. 2550 BC) is said to have built the first Great Pyramid at Gizeh. Khufu (known otherwise as Cheops) was a man of brutal energy and history tells us that it took Khufu twenty years and over 100,000 men to complete the pyramid. Twenty-five years later (Noah was about 419 years old) the second great pyramid was built. Its builder, Khafre (c. 2525 BC), was Khufu’s successor. Then twenty-five years after (Noah was around 444 years old) the third and last great pyramid was erected. Menkaure (c. 2500 BC), Khafre’s successor, is said to have been its builder. The death of Lamech (777 years)

(Note - This event took place when Noah was 595 years old) Date - 2349 BC/AM 1651

30 And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and begat sons and daughters: 31 And all the days of Lamech were sev- en hundred seventy and seven years: and he died. 9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. 5:29 Noah’s name means “rest.” He is referred to 8 times in the NT (Mt 24:37-38, Lk 3:36 & 17:26-27, Heb 11:7, I Pet 3:20 and II Pet 2:5). Noah is the 55th generation from CHRIST . He was born 126 years after Adam’s death. NOTE - Noah may not have known every detail concerning the Gospel of CHRIST ( I Pet 1:10,12 ), but he certainly understood enough of it to be saved (I Pet 3:18-20, II Pet 2:5 and I Cor 15:1 ). He even proclaimed the coming promised MESSIAH’S righteousness to the lost during the Pre-Flood world. 5:32 Shem’s name means “name; renown.” He is referred to 2 times in the NT (Lk 3:36). Shem is the 54th generation from CHRIST . Although he is always listed first among his brothers, Shem was probably not the firstborn, as he was born c. 2442 BC, when Noah was 502 years old. Ham and/or Japheth were probably born first. 6:1 There are four similarities between the time right before the event of the Flood and the Return of CHRIST (Lk 17:26-30):
