And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision. 2 And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see; 3 And ere the 21 lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep; of a Kingdom where HE will rule (Fulfilled - I Ki 2:35 - 1010 BC & Lk 2:7, 11 - 1 BC & Rev 20:4,6)

23 And he said unto them, 1 Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings 2 by all this people. 24 Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the LORD’S people to transgress. 25 If one man sin against another, 3 the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the LORD, who shall intreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, 4 because the LORD would slay them. 26 And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favour 5 both with the LORD, and also with men. 2:25 There is a difference between the civil laws of God ( If one man sin against another ) and the moral laws of God ( if a man sin against the LORD ). Whereas the civil laws were written to govern relationships between people (Rom 13:1-9), the moral laws were written to show man his relationship to a Holy God ( Prov 29:2 ). 2:35 This prophecy concerning a “ faithful priest ” was fulfilled in Zadok, who was of the family of Eleasar and who came into Abiathar’s place in the beginning of Solomon’s reign.
