is only one God. Far be it from His glory to have a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. And sufficient is Allah as having charge of affairs. 7
The Koran plainly rejects the doctrine of Trinity. The Koran states again in Sura 5:73:
Certainly they disbelieve who say: Allah is the third of the three. And there is no God but one God. And if they desist not from what they say, a painful chastisement will surely befall such of them as disbelieve. 8
Once again, the doctrine of the Trinity is plainly referred to and rejected by the people of Islam . NOTE - According to Bible Numeric experts, like E. W. Bullinger ( Number in Scripture ), God is a trinity because the number three is the number for that which is “ solid , real , substantial , complete , and entire .” 9 For example, two straight lines cannot possibly enclose any space, or form a plane figure; neither can two plane surfaces form a solid. However, three lines (three dimensions of length, breadth, and height) can and are necessary to form a cube (that which is solid). Hence, the number three is the symbol for that which is “complete.” In fact, it appears that all things that suggest “completeness” are stamped with the number three . For example: * God’s universe is a trinity . It is composed of: space, time, and matter
* Space is a trinity . It is composed of: width, depth, and height * Time is a trinity . It is composed of: past, present, and future * Matter is a trinity . It is composed of: solid, liquid, and gas * Electricity is a trinity . It is composed of: light, heat, and power * Light is a trinity . It is composed of:
- Red rays, which produce heat, and are felt. Red rays are an illustration of the FATHER . - Yellow rays, which produce light, and are seen. Yellow rays are an illustration of the SON . - Blue rays, which are chemical, and cannot be felt or seen, but whose presence is revealed by its effects in a chemical action, such as photography. Blue rays are an illustration of the SPIRIT . * Fire is a trinity . It is composed of: - Caloric rays, which produce heat, and are felt. Caloric rays are an illustration of the FATHER . - Luminous rays, which produce light, and are seen. Luminous rays are an illustration of the SON . - Actinic rays, which are chemical, and cannot be felt or seen, but whose presence is revealed by its effects in a chemical action. Actinic rays are an illustration of the SPIRIT . * Man is a trinity . He is composed of: spirit, soul, and body ( I Thess 5:23 ). * The soul in man is a trinity . It is composed of: mind, heart, and will. Because the number three is the number for that which is “solid, real, entire, and complete,” God designed man to be of a triune nature in order to represent “the whole man.” * There are three great enemies of man: the world, the flesh, and the Devil * There is a threefold nature of temptation: lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life * Human capability is a trinity . It is composed of: thought, word, and deed * Three propositions are necessary to complete the simplest form of argument: major premise, minor, and conclusion * Three persons, in grammar, express and include all the relationships of mankind: first, second, and third person (sing or plural) * Three kingdoms embrace our ideas of matter: animal, vegetable, and mineral * The third day of creation was all about botany (plant life) It is to be noted that on the preceding two days of creation nothing is ever mentioned or dealt with except inorganic matter. In that realm there is no growth, reproduction, changes or mutation, but things remain as they originate, subject only to the laws of degeneration. For example, granite decomposes, suffers erosion, and becomes in turn gravel, sand, and soil, but there are no infant “granites” being brought into being by the rocks of this system. The plants on day three are the first things to appear with the power to “resurrect” (reproduce). Hence, the number three is also the number for resurrection. * The third day Jesus rose from the dead * Jesus had a three -year ministry * Jesus is recorded to have raised three different people from the dead * Jesus is recorded to have wept three different times *There were three inscriptions on the cross in three different languages (illustrating the “completeness” of man’s rejection of CHRIST ) * Jesus is the “Good Shepherd” (Jn 10:14), the “Great Shepherd” (Heb 13:20), and the “Chief Shepherd” (I Pet 4:5) * The office of Christ is threefold : Prophet, Priest, and King NOTE – God is a Trinity in unity (Tri-unity), and the fact that God is the great “ three -in-one” (I Jn 5:7) should be no more difficult to understand than a husband and wife being two and yet “one-flesh” (Gen 2:24). 1 Richards, Lawrence O.
