23:2 God, in His wisdom, set up seven different “feast days” for His people to observe throughout the year. These feasts , if observed, would help His people “stay on schedule” spiritually, and thus stay right with Him ( Neh 8:17 ). Whereas “getting right” with God meant sacrificing a lamb ( Lev 1:2 ), “staying right” with God meant keeping the feasts . Each feast represented something CHRIST did or will do for humanity in the future. Ray Stedman in The Way to Wholeness: Lessons from Leviticus notes: The twenty-third chapter of Leviticus is a remarkable portion of Scripture, because it gives us God’s calendar for the appointed feasts of Israel. 1 Mark Hitchcock in Blood Moons Rising agrees. He notes:
As you can see, a great event in history, associated with Christ’s first coming, occurred on each of these spring feast days in the first century. Jesus died on Passover (April 3, AD 33). Jesus was raised from the dead on Sunday, April
