19 And Aaron said unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin offer- ing and their burnt offering before the LORD; 1 and such things have befallen me: and if I had eaten the sin offering to day, should it have been accepted in the sight of the LORD? 20 And when Moses heard that, he was content. 12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters , that shall be an abomination unto you . 13 5 And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls ; they shall not be eaten , they are an abomination : the eagle , and the ossifrage , and the ospray , 14 And the vulture , and the kite after his kind ; 15 Every raven after his kind ; 16 And the owl , and the night hawk , and the cuckow , and the hawk after his kind , 17 And the little owl , and the cormorant , and the great owl , 18 And the swan , and the pelican , and the gier eagle , 19 And the stork , the heron after her kind , and the lapwing , and the bat . 20 All fowls that creep , going upon all four , shall be an abomination unto you . 21 Yet these may ye eat of every 6 flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four , which have legs above their feet , to leap withal upon the earth ; 22 Even these of them ye may eat ; the 7 lo- cust after his kind , and the 8 bald locust af- ter his kind , and the 9 beetle after his kind , and the grasshopper after his kind . 23 But all other 6 flying creeping things , which have four feet , shall be an abomina- tion unto you . (Concerning cleanliness) 24 And for these ye shall be unclean : whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even . 25 And whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes , and be unclean until the even . 26 The carcases of every beast which di- videth the hoof , and is not clovenfooted , nor cheweth the cud , are unclean unto you : every one that toucheth them shall be unclean . 27 And whatsoever goeth upon his paws , among all manner of beasts that go on all four , those are unclean unto you : 10 whoso toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even . 28 And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes , and be un- clean until the even : they are unclean unto you .

1. Lev 10:1-2 Note - Due to the death of his two sons ( and such things have befallen me ), Aaron and his remaining sons did not feel spiritual enough to eat of the sin offering. Moses seems to have understood. 2. Gen 7:2 & Deut 14:4-8 & Mk 7:18-19 & Rom 14:2 & I Tim 4:4 Note - These personal laws were set up for the nation of Israel, not Christians (Acts 10:12-14 and Heb 9:10 & 13:9). 3. or, “badger” 4. Deut 14:9-10 5. Deut 14:11-18 6. Mt 3:4 Note - Is this another error? Insects ( flying creeping thing ) have six legs, not four. Again, although skeptics enjoy using verses like this to try and discredit the Bible, in reality the big back legs of the locust, cricket and grasshopper (called here “ legs above their feet, to leap withal ”) are referring to their hopping “feet.” Thus four “feet” plus two “legs” equals six. The four “ feet ” are just being differentiated from the two “ legs above the feet ” because of their difference in function. 7. or, “winged creatures; flying insects”

8. or, “katydid” 9. or, “cricket” 10. Jud 14:8-9

11:20 Is this an error? “ Fowls ” (birds) have two feet, not four. Though skeptics enjoy using this verse to prove that the Bible is full of errors, in reality the Hebrew word used here for “ fowls ” ( ‘owph ) is the same word translated “flying” in verse 21, which of course is in reference to flying insects, not birds (Dang those translators…). NOTE – The NIV translators corrected the verse to read: “ All flying insects that walk on all fours are to be detestable to you .”
