15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby 1 many be defiled; 16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as 2 Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. 17 For ye know how that afterward, 3 when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of 4 repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears. 18 For ye are not come unto the mount 5 that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, 19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard 6 intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: 20 (For they could not endure that which was commanded, 7 And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: 21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, 8 I exceedingly fear and quake:) 22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, 9 the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an 10 innumer- able company of angels, The promise of a JUDGMENT DAY to come (Fulfilled - Rev 20:11-15) 23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are 11 written in heaven, and to GOD THE 12 JUDGE of all, and to the spirits of 13 just men made perfect, P 24 And to Jesus 14 the MEDIATOR of the new covenant, and to 15 the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of 16 Abel. The promise of CHRIST’S Second Coming (Fulfilled - Rev 19:11-21) 25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from 17 HIM

that 18 speaketh 19 from heaven: P 26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, 20 Yet once more I 21 shake not the earth only, but also heaven. P The promise of a Kingdom where 27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that 21 THOSE THINGS which cannot be shaken may remain. P 28 Wherefore we receiving a 21 KINGDOM which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: P 29 22 For our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 13 Remember to live for others Date Written - c. AD 61 1 Let 23 brotherly love continue. 2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. 3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body. 4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers 24 God will judge. 5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with 25 such things as ye have: for he hath said, 26 I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 6 So that we may boldly say, 27 The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. CHRIST will rule (Fulfilled - Rev 20:4,6)

7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their 24 conversation. 8 28 JESUS CHRIST the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. 12:15 a The “ grace of God ” here is in reference to Christians and their need for spiritual blessings, not to non-Christians and their need for redemption. 12:15 b People trouble themselves whenever they allow anger, resentment, vengeance ( Deut 32:35 ), and unforgiveness to control their lives. Dr. S.I. McMillen in None of These Diseases noted that two thirds of all patients that go to see a doctor have symptoms caused or aggravated by mental stress. McMillen notes: At the beginning of this century, bacteria were considered the center of attention. Now, fifty years later, mental stress has taken its place. 1 THE ADAGE IS TRUE: What a person eats is not nearly as important as what’s eating at him NOTE - Hebrews 12:15 is written to Christians, warning them of the danger of bitterness.
