comes an order to the resurrection of saved individuals ( Rev 11:11 ). 15:28 This word ( subject ) is the Greek word ‘ XSοτDJK ( hupotage ). It is a military term and means “ to rank under .” Once the 1000-year millennial reign of CHRIST has ended, Jesus will forever place Himself in a lower order ( rank ) under the FIRST and Jesus did more than just suffer inhumanely on Calvary; He gave up certain aspects of His eternal authority in order to pay for the eternality of man’s sin. We know of at least three eternal aspects that Jesus was willing to concede the day He came to die for us: * The immaterial part of His spirit being Once Jesus identified Himself with humanity via the virgin birth He would never return to the immaterial part of His spirit being again. In fact, He will forever be confined to a glorified resurrected body for all eternity future. Which means: He was willing to give up certain aspects of His eternal omnipresence ( Mk 13:32 and Jn 4:24a ) in order to pay for the eternality of man’s sin. John F. Walvoord in Jesus Christ Is Lord notes: The eternal Son of God took upon Himself a complete human nature and became Man. The act of incarnation was not a temporary arrangement which ended with His death and resurrection, but, as the Scriptures make evident, His human nature continued forever. His earthly body which died on the cross being transformed into a resurrection body suited for His glorious presence in heaven. The continuance of His humanity is reflected in such passages as Matthew 26:64 where it is stated that Christ will sit on the throne of His glory and return to earth as the Son of man: “Henceforth ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.” The appearances of Christ after His resurrection also substantiate the continuity of His true humanity… Through certain aspects of His mediatorial work will terminate according to I Corinthians 15:24-28, there is no indication anywhere in the Bible that His humanity will ever be terminated. 1 In an internet article called The Little Church Around The Corner , a question was asked and then answered: QUESTION : Can Jesus, in His resurrection body, be in more than one place at a time in Heaven? ANSWER : We do not fully understand the operation of the resurrection body, but we can only say, probably not. In His post resurrection activities during His Earthly ministry, Jesus did not display this capability… THIRD Persons of the Triune Godhead. Christ will do this for two reasons: 1. To satisfy the eternal price that had to be paid at Calvary ( Mt 27:46 and Mk 15:34a )

We realize that Jesus’ seeming “confinement” to one body may seem at odds with the fact of God’s omnipresence. However, remember that the Members of the Trinity work together. God is omnipresent in Spirit even if Jesus is not omnipresent in body. This being the case, Jesus has all knowledge that the Father and/or the Holy Spirit gather through omnipresence. Even during His Earthly ministry, the Bible points out that Jesus knew people’s thoughts and plans beforehand (such as Judas’ betrayal of Him). This could only have been the result of the fact that He had (and still has) the mind of God because He is God. 2

NOTE – Jesus may have had both a divine nature and a human nature (known as the Hypostatic Union) while on earth, but if He did, He surrendered the use of that divine nature with its attributes to the Father so that He had to live life as a man must live it, and thus show us the way to do the same. Edward Heppenstall in The Man Who Is God (Internet article) notes:

How could a human consciousness, with its limited nature, co-exist and maintain its independence in a single person possessing a full divine consciousness? Would not the presence of an infinite and immutable divine consciousness make impossible the operation of a free finite human consciousness? How could a divine consciousness submit to be controlled or manipulated by the human, especially when the human constitution and faculties had been affected and weakened by four thousand years of sin? To believe that Jesus had some kind of double consciousness, divine and human, seems to negate the reality of the Incarnation or even the necessity for it. It would make the human life of Christ quite artificial, since it could hardly be considered free from control by deity. 3

In His pre-existent state Jesus’ divine attributes of omnipresence, omniscience, and omnipotence were unlimited in directing and controlling the universe. Then, when Jesus came to earth, He became subject to, and dependent upon the Father (Mt 26:53), and relinquished the right to use His divine attributes. The only way that Jesus could give expression to His divine attributes would be through their release by the Father at the request of the Son. Thus every decision and every act of Jesus’ life came from His human side and not from the divine. In this way Jesus could say in John 5:19: Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself , but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. Question: If Jesus’ divine attributes of omnipresence, omniscience, and omnipotence were conscious and active during His life on earth, how was He able to say, “ The Son can do nothing of himself ?” * The knowledge of all things While Jesus was here on earth for thirty-three years in human form He also conceded certain aspects of His eternal omniscience ( Mt 24:36b ). Edward Heppenstall in The Man Who Is God (Internet article) notes: The Gospels teach us that Jesus’ life in every way followed the natural process of development. He entered the world
