JOHN 6:51

JOHN 7:3

1738

MAN ascend up where he was before ? P 63 It is the 6 spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit , and they are life . 64 But there are some of you that believe not . For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. 65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you , that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father . 66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. 67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away ? 68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. 69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. The promise of Judas’ betrayal of CHRIST (Fulfilled - Jn 18:3,5 - AD 32) 70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, 7 and one of you is a devil ? P 71 He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve. John 7 CHRIST sends His disciples to Jerusalem Date - AD 31 1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him. 2 Now the Jews’ 8 feast of tabernacles was at hand. 3 His brethren therefore said unto him,

The promise of CHRIST’S redemptive work (Fulfilled - Jn 19:28,30 - AD 32) 51 1 I AM the 2 LIVING BREAD which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, 3 which I will give for the life of the world. P 52 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? 53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily , verily , I say unto you , Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man , and drink his blood , ye have no life in you . 54 Whoso eateth my flesh , and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; 4 and I will raise him up at the last day . P 55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed . 56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him . 57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. 58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever . 59 These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. 60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? 61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you ? The promise of CHRIST’S physical ascension (Fulfilled - Mk 16:19 & Lk 24:51 & Acts 1:9 - AD 32) 62 What and if ye shall see 5 the SON OF

6:51 There are two schools of thought concerning this verse ( if any man eat of this bread ). One school of thought believes that the elements of the Lord’s Supper are changed into the actual body and blood of Christ. Tom Craggs, Jr. in Understanding the Central Role of the Mass ( Divine Miracle or Deceptive Hoax ) notes:

In order to have a sacrifice Rome teaches Jesus Christ must be present and this is accomplished through the mystery miracle of Transubstantiation. This theological term comes from the Latin word Transubstaniato, meaning “change of substance.” This teaching was deemed official doctrine and incorporated into the creed of the Fourth Lateran Council in 1215 A.D. 1

This school of thought came from the Catholic Church . Max Keiser noted on his RT program (aired 2-12-2015): “What is Transubstantiation and Transmodification? It’s in the Bible, supposedly.” “ It’s not in the Bible ,” he exclaimed! Keiser went on to say (what we all know to be true) –that Transubstantiation was invented by the Catholic Church . The other school of thought believes that the Lord’s Supper is but a commemoration of Calvary. David M. Levy in T he Tabernacle: Shadows of the Messiah notes: The metaphor “eat of this bread” did not teach the necessity of literally eating the flesh of Jesus to acquire eternal life. Jesus simply taught that as food becomes part of an individual as it is consumed, so all who believe in Him as the one who gives life are completely assimilating Him. 2 1 Craggs, Jr., Tom.
