MATTHEW 18:34
MATTHEW 19:14
1529
34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. 35 So likewise shall my heavenly FATHER do also unto you, if ye from your hearts 1 forgive not every one his brother their trespasses . READ NEXT - Matthew 8:19-22 Matthew 19 CHRIST speaks about divorce (S/A - Mk 10:1-12) Date - AD 32 1 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;
4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, 3 that he which made them at the beginning made them 4 male and female, 5 And said, 5 For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God 6 hath joined together, let not man 7 put asunder . 7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? 8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the begin- ning it was not so. 9 And I say unto you,Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for 8 fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth 9 commit adultery . 10 His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, 10 it is not good to marry. 11 But he said unto them, 11 All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given. 12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs 12 for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it . CHRIST blesses the little children (S/A - Mk 10:13-16 & Lk 18:15-17) 13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. 14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: 13 for of such is the kingdom of heaven .
1. Mt 6:12 & Mk 11:25- 26 & II Cor 2:7 & Jms 2:13 2. or, “divorce” - Deut 24:1-4 3. Quoted from the OT - Gen 1:27 4. Note - God made them “ male and female ” (one female for one male); so that Adam could not divorce his wife and take another, for there was no other to take. 5. Quoted from the OT - Gen 2:24 6. or, “considers married (those who have come together sexually; one flesh )” 7. or, “issue divorce papers” 8. or, “continued infidelity; sexual unfaithfulness; a life of shame” 9. Lk 16:18 10. Note - The disciples, after hearing Christ explain God’s original ideal for marriage, thought, “If it’s that wrong to divorce and that hard to stay married, why even get married?” ( it is not good to marry ). 11. I Cor 7:1-2,7 12. I Cor 7:32 13. Note - According to Jesus (God Himself in flesh), Heaven is populated with children ( for of such is the kingdom of heaven ); children that have died prematurely, before the age of accountability ( II Sam 12:23 and I Ki 14: 10- 13 ).

18:34 This word ( tormentors ) is the Greek word EDσDQLστDL9 ( basanistais ) and is found 22 times in the NT. Basanistais is always associated with Hell (Mt 8:29, Mk 5:7, Lk 8:28 & 16:23,28 and Rev 14:10-11 & 20:10) and/or three “Hell-like” torments: 1. Mental suffering (Lk 16:23-25) due to: (1) Demonic intervention (Job 1:9-20); (2) Mental pain associated with personal sin (I Sam 16:14-16 & 18:10 & 19:9 and II Pet 2:8); or (3) Unsettling circumstances (Mt 14:24 and Mk 6:48) 2. Bodily suffering (Lk 16:23,28) due to: (1) Demonic intervention (Job 2:6-7); (2) Physical pain associated with personal sin (I Cor 5:5 and Rev 11:10 & 18:7,10,15); (3) Disease (Mt 4:24 & 8:6); or (4) Pain associated with birth (Rev 12:2) 3. Demonic oppression (Mt 18:34 and Rev 9:5) Parable #15 is aimed at believers who fail to forgive . The character flaw – assuming people owe us more than we owe God . As Christians, we have been forgiven a debt immeasurable, and people owe us little compared to what we owe God. Therefore, we who have experienced such forgiveness do not have the liberty to choose whom we will forgive or not forgive. Charles Stanley in God’s Way Day by Day notes:
We do not have the right as Christians to harbor unforgiveness. What is it that Jesus couldn’t forgive in your life or beyond His ability to cleanse, heal, restore, or forgive in a person? If God has forgiven you He expects you to be able
