12 Howmuch then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days . 13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand . And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other. 14 Then the Pharisees went out, 1 and held a council against him, how they might destroy him. Multitudes are healed near Capernaum (S/A - Mk 3:7-12 & Lk 6:17-19) 15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all; 16 And charged them that they should not make him known: The fulfillment of HOLY SPIRIT power to rest upon CHRIST’S earthly ministry 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, 18 2 Behold my 3 SERVANT , whom I have chosen; my beloved, in 4 WHOM my soul is well pleased: I will put my SPIRIT upon 5 HIM , and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles. PF 19 2 HE shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets. PF 20 2 A bruised reed shall HE not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto vic- tory. PF 21 2 And in HIS name shall the Gentiles trust. 22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw. 23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the SON OF DAVID ? 24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by 6 BEELZEBUB the prince of the devils. 25 And Jesus 7 knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: 26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? 27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges. 28 But if I cast out devils by the SPIR- IT OF GOD , then the kingdom of GOD is come unto you. 29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house. 30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

12:12 According to Jesus, man was created with a greater ( better ) purpose than the rest of God’s creation. If man were a mere part of the evolutionary process, Jesus would have said so. He did not say so (Mt 6:26 & 10:29-31). In fact, according to Genesis 1:28, God gave man authority to subdue the earth and to bring its vast resources into submission, including the animals. Two thousand years ago our Lord plainly dismissed the “Grecian-born” theory of evolution ( Gen 1:11,24 , Job 26:7 , Acts 17:18 a,b , Colo 2:8 and Religious Note after Dan 8:27). Joe Gibbs in Game Plan for Life notes: Here’s another commonsense problem I have with evolution: What creates the soul in a man? A dog feels pain when he is hurt and joy when he is fed, but does he worry about his purpose in life, how to be the best dog he can be, or how to help feed the other poor dogs of the world? No. Can he create a great work of art that speaks to other dog’s souls for centuries to come? No. He’s just a dog. A great companion? Absolutely. But as far as we can tell, he’s not worried about the great questions of life, such as where he’ll spend eternity. He doesn’t have the soul of a human. 1 12:23 Because CHRIST healed all who came to him (in fulfillment of Isaiah 53:4) some recognized Him as the promised OT MESSIAH ( SON OF DAVID – Psa 132:11). 12:26 Even Satan knows that a house divided against itself cannot stand . 12:28 God’s work can never be accomplished outside of the SPIRIT OF GOD (Zech 4:6).
