MATTHEW 4:9

MATTHEW 5:2

9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me . 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, 1 Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve . 11 Then the 2 devil leaveth him, and, behold, 3 angels came and ministered unto him. 4:9 Satan longs for the kind of worship that only God deserves (II Thess 2:3-4 and Rev 9:20 & 13:4,8,12). 4:23 Just as there were three offices ( Rev 1:5 ), commonly set forth in the Scriptures as being the channels of CHRIST’S work for lost men ( Prophet - Deut 18:15,18,19/Acts 3:22-23, Priest - Psa 110:4/Heb 5:6 & 7:17,21, and King - Zeph 3:15/Mt 2:2 & 27:42 & Jn 1:49 & Rev 19:16), so there were three methods through which the prophetic office functioned: teaching, preaching , and healing . Here the three methods coincide in this one single text.
