BETWEEN THE TESTAMENTS

Post Empire Period (268 - 146 BC) By 268 BC Rome had won control of all Italy south of the Pole Valley and the Grecian Empire began to lose its grip upon its world domination. By 241 BC, Rome had taken Sicily and made it a Roman province. In 149 BC, Rome invaded Africa and besieged Carthage for two years. Finally, in 146 BC, the Romans stormed the city and destroyed it utterly, and the Roman Empire emerged as the next new world power. NOTE – A must see is the PBS Home Video called In the Footsteps of Alexander the Great 3 , hosted by Michael Wood. Using texts of Greek and Roman historians, this extraordinary video chronicles the life of Alexander the Great.
