7 And he built there an altar, and called the place 1 El-beth-el: because 2 there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother. 8 But 3 Deborah Rebekah’s nurse died, and she was buried beneath Bethel under an oak: and the name of it was called 4 Al- lon-bachuth. 9 And 5 GOD appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padan-aram, and blessed him. 10 And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel. The promise of Jacob’s seed to become a great nation; of Jacob’s seed to produce kings; of a Kingdom where CHRIST will rule (Fulfilled - Exo 1:7 - c. 1625 BC & I Sam 11:15 - II Ki 24:17,18 - 1090-597 BC & Rev 20:4,6) 11 And God said unto him, I am 6 GOD ALMIGHTY : be fruitful and multiply; 7 a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and 8 kings 9 shall come out of thy loins; PP P The promise of Israel to possess Canaan; of CHRIST’S First Coming (Fulfilled - Josh 11:23 - 1441 BC & Lk 2:7,11 - 1 BC) 12 And the land which I gave 10 Abraham and 11 Isaac, 12 to 13 thee I will give it, 14 and to thy 15 SEED after thee will I give the land. her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also. 18 And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name 17 Ben-oni: but his father called him Benjamin. 19 And 18 Rachel died, and was buried in the way to 19 Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.

35:9 Padan-aram was the plain region of Mesopotamia where the city of Haran was situated. 35:18 Benjamin’s name means “son of the right hand.” He is referred to 13 times in the NT (Acts 7:8-15 & 13:21, Rom 11:1, Phil 3:5 and Rev 7:8 & 21:12). Benjamin was born c. 1726 BC.
