GENESIS 30:13

Laban, What is this thou hast done unto me? did not I serve with thee for Rachel? wherefore then hast thou beguiled me? 26 And Laban said, It must not be so done in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn. 27 Fulfil her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years. Jacob (83 years old) serves seven more years for Rachel Date - 1749 - 1742 BC 28 And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week: and he gave him 1 Rachel his daugh- ter to wife also. 29 And Laban gave to Rachel his daugh- ter Bilhah his handmaid to be her maid. 30 And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him yet seven other years. The births of Reuben, Simeon, 31 And when the LORD saw that Leah was 2 hated, he 3 opened her womb: but Rachel was barren. 32 And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name 4 Reuben: for she said, Surely the LORD hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me. 33 And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Because the LORD hath heard that I was hated, he hath therefore given me this son also: and she called his name 5 Simeon. 34 And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my hus- band be joined unto me, because I have born him three sons: therefore was his name called 6 Levi. 35 And she conceived again, and bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise the Levi, and Judah (S/A - I Chro 2:1) Date - 1748 - 1745 BC

LORD: therefore she called his name 7 Judah; and left bearing. Genesis 30 The births of Dan and Naphtali (S/A - I Chro 2:2) Date - From c. 1746 - 1745 BC 1 And when 1 Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die. 2 And Jacob’s anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God’s stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb? 3 And she said, Behold my maid Bilhah, go in unto her; and she shall bear upon my knees that I may also have children by her. 4 And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid to wife: and Jacob went in unto her. 5 And Bilhah conceived, and bare Jacob a son. 6 And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name 8 Dan. 7 And Bilhah Rachel’s maid conceived again, and bare Jacob a second son. 8 And Rachel said, With great wres- tlings have I wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed: and she called his name 9 Naphtali. The births of Gad and Asher (S/A - I Chro 2:2) Date - From c. 1744 - 1743 BC 9 When Leah saw that she had left bear- ing, she took Zilpah her maid, and gave her Jacob to wife. 10 And Zilpah Leah’s maid bare Jacob a son. 11 And Leah said, A troop cometh: and she called his name 10 Gad. 12 And Zilpah Leah’s maid bare Jacob a second son.

13 And Leah said, Happy am I, for the daughters will call me blessed: and she called his name 11 Asher. 29:31 You are never more loved by God than when you are down and hurting ( when the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb ). All that’s left is for you to recognize it. There are several reasons for trials and sufferings: * Maybe God is simply bragging on you (Job 1:6-8) * Maybe God is trying to give you a gift (Phil 1:28-29/I Pet 4:1-2, II Cor 4:17-18 and Jms 1:2-5 & 5:7-11) * Maybe God is trying to reward you for the future (Jms 1:12 and I Pet 1:6-7) * Maybe God is trying to keep you humble (Deut 8:2-3,16) and holy (Heb 12:10-11); He loves you enough to correct you (Heb 12:5-6) * Maybe God is trying to use you to encourage others (II Cor 1:3-4) * Maybe God wants you to see Jesus better than you do (Heb 12:2-3) 29:35 Judah’s name means “praise.” He is referred to 17 times in the NT (Mt 1:2-3, Lk 3:33, Acts 7:8-15, Heb 7:13-14 & 8:8 and Rev 5:5 & 7:5 & 21:12). Judah is the 42nd generation from CHRIST .
