DANIEL 11:12

I am gone forth, lo, 1 the prince of Grecia shall come. P 21 But I will show thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince. Daniel 11 The promise of four Medo-Persian kings to fulfill their prophetic destiny (Note - This event took place in the 3rd year of King Cyrus’ co-reign with Darius the Mede) Date - 536 BC/AM 3464 1 Also I in the 2 first year of Darius the Mede, even I, stood to confirm and to strengthen him. 2 And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the 3 fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia. P The promise of a great Grecian ruler (Alexander the Great) (Fulfilled - From 336-323 BC) 3 And a 4 mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will. P 4 And when he shall stand up, 5 his king- dom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his king- dom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those. PP 6 And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the 8 king’s daugh- ter of the south shall come to the 9 king of the north to make an 10 agreement: but she shall not retain the power of the arm; nei- ther shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that begat her, and he that strengthened her in these times. P 7 But out of a branch of her roots shall 11 one stand up in his estate, 12 which shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the 9 king of the north, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail: P 8 12 And shall also carry captives into Egypt their gods, with their princes, and with their precious vessels of silver and of gold; and 11 he shall continue more years than the 9 king of the north. P 9 So the 11 king of the south 12 shall come into 9 his kingdom, and shall return into his own land. P 10 But his sons shall be stirred up, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces: and 13 one shall certainly come, and over- flow, and pass through: then shall he return, and be stirred up, even to his fortress. P 14 11 And the king of the south shall be moved with 15 choler, and shall come forth and fight with him, even with the LJng of the north: and he shall set forth a great multitude; but the multitude shall be given into his hand. P 10:21 The scripture of truth here to which the angel refers is not the Bible. The Bible is but a partial revelation. The King James Study Bible notes: The scripture of truth, or “book of truth,” probably refers to God’s knowledge or record of all truth, of which the Bible is a partial revelation. 1 Thus, in Heaven, within reach of every angel, lies another book (The Book of Truth), which contains the record of all truth. It is this Book and the prophecies within it that C.S. Lewis referred to in his work The Chronicles Of Narnia . Thus, it is this book that the angels rely on to direct their hopes and lives. Remember: God is a God of His Word. He bases His entire reputation (who He is) on whether He can keep His word or not. Find a God who keeps His Word and you will have found God. Without a doubt, one of the prophecies within this “book of truth” is the promise to restore order to the angelic universe that Lucifer had disrupted through sin ( Gen 2:17b , Ezk 28:12 and Rev 12:12 ). 11:2 Fulfilled - (1) Cyrus (559-529 BC); (2) Cambyses (529-522 BC); and (3) Darius I the Great (522-486 BC). 11:3 During Alexander’s 9 yr campaign against the world he traveled over 11,000 miles, dominating every foot of it. 11:10 a Fulfilled - Antiochus II’s two sons were: (1) Seleucus III Ceraunus (226-223 BC); and (2) Antiochus III (223-187 BC). 11:10 b Fulfilled - Antiochus II’s son, Antiochus III (223-187 BC), invaded ( shall certainly come ) Ptolemy IV of Egypt in 217 BC, but was defeated (vs 11-12). 1 The King James Study Bible .
