DANIEL 7:6
DANIEL 7:14
1342
Greece ( Leopard ) The promise of Greece to become a world empire; then divide under four generals (Fulfilled - 331 BC & 323 BC) 6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a 1 LEOPARD , which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and 2 dominion was given to it. PP Rome ( Iron teeth ) The promise of Rome to become a world empire; of a revived Roman empire under the Antichrist (Fulfilled - 146 BC & Rev 6:2 & 13:1) 7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth 3 BEAST , dread- ful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; 4 and it had ten horns. PP The promise of an Antichrist 8 I considered 2 the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another 5 little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, 6 and a mouth speaking great things. PPP The promise of eternal punish- ment for Satan (Fulfilled - Rev 20:10) 9 I beheld till the thrones 7 were cast down, and the 8 ANCIENT OF DAYS did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. P and his power to conquer (Fulfilled - Rev 6:1-2 & 13:1-6)
The promise of a JUDGMENT DAY to come (Fulfilled - Rev 20:11-15) 10 9 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: 10 thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the 11 JUDGMENT was set, and the books were opened. P The promise of the Antichrist’s destruction (Fulfilled - Rev 19:20) 11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the 12 horn spake: I beheld even 13 till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. P The promise of Babylon, Medo- Persia, and Greece’s fall (Fulfilled - Dan 5:30,31 - 539 BC & 331 BC & 146 BC) 12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. P The promise of Wrath when CHRIST returns (Fulfilled - Rev 19:11-21) 13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the 14 SON OF MAN 15 came 16 with the clouds of heaven, and came to the 8 ANCIENT OF DAYS , and they brought HIM near before HIM . P The promise of a Kingdom where 14 And there was given 17 HIM dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve 18 HIM : 19 HIS dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. P CHRIST will rule (Fulfilled - Rev 20:4,6)

7:6 a The “third” ( another ) world power Daniel described was Greece . Like an enraged four-winged leopard, Greece, with lightning speed (four wings), would swiftly pounce upon the world with the speed of a big cat. Alexander the Great and his Grecian army shattered everything in their path and conquered the known world in nine years (from 334-325 BC). 7:6 b When Alexander the Great died in 323 BC, “four of his generals” ( four heads ) divided up his empire: Cassander (ruled Macedonia); Ptolemy I (ruled Egypt from 323-285 BC); Lysimachus (ruled Asia Minor); and Selecus (ruled Syria from 312-281 BC). 7:7 a The fourth world power Daniel described was Rome . Dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly, Rome conquered the world and controlled it for over 500 years (from c. 44 BC – AD 476), longer than Babylon (612-539 BC), Medo-Persia (539-331 BC) and Greece (331-146 BC) combined. 7:7 b E.W. Bullinger in Number in Scripture noted that the number ten signifies: … the perfection of Divine order … Completeness of order, marking the entire round of anything, is, therefore, the ever-present signification of the number ten . It implies that nothing is wanting; that the number and order are perfect; that the whole cycle is complete. 1
