P 27 1 And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her in- crease, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them. 31 1 And ye my flock, the flock of my pas- ture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord GOD. P Ezekiel 35 The promise of Edom’s fall to Babylon (Fulfilled - 582 BC) (Note - This portion of Ezekiel’s prophecy took place in the 20th year of King Nebuchadnezzar’s reign) Date Written - 585 BC/AM 3415 1 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, set thy face against mount 11 Seir, and prophesy against it, 3 And say unto it, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O mount Seir, I am against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, 12 and I will make thee most desolate. P 4 12 I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD. P 5 Because thou hast had a perpetual ha- tred, and hast shed the blood of the chil- dren of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their 13 calamity, 14 in the time that their iniquity had an end: 6 Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, 12 I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: since thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee. P 7 12 Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that pass- eth out and him that returneth. P 8 12 And I will fill his mountains with his slain men: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword. P 9 12 I will make thee perpetual desola- tions, 15 and thy cities shall not return: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. P 10 Because thou hast said, These 16 two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas the LORD was there:

34:23 GOD THE FATHER ( And I ; the SHEPHERD of Israel – vs 12) will shepherd His people by setting up His own SHEPHERD ( CHRIST – Jn 10:11-16, Gen 49:24, Isa 40:11, Ezk 37:24, Heb 13:20, I Pet 2:25 & 5:4 and Rev 7:17 ) over them. 34:25 This covenant is not the same as the New Covenant ( Jere 31:31 ), but will be initiated after the New is fulfilled. Under the covenant of peace the Lord will remove foreign nations ( evil beasts ), shower Israel and their land with blessings (vs 26-27), and guarantee complete security (vs 28). 35:5 The hatred that Edom had for Israel started with its founder – Esau (Jere 49:7-10 and Gen 36:1), who sold his birthright for a cheap bowl of soup ( Gen 25 :19- 32 ). That one act of selfishness on the part of Esau led his descendants down the same path of self-destruction. and because of Esau’s anger, envy and hatred for Jacob (Gen 25-27), the descendants of Esau hated Israel with a perpetual hatred . 35:9 Because Edom had a perpetual hatred for Israel (vs 5), God would destroy Edom till Edom would no longer exist as a nation ( perpetual desolations – Obad 1:5 ).
