EZEKIEL 23:34

EZEKIEL 24:14

1281

44 Yet they went in unto her, as they go in unto a woman that playeth the harlot: so went they in unto Aholah and unto Ahol- ibah, the lewd women. 45 And the righteous men, they shall judge them after the manner of adulter- esses, and after the manner of women that shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands. 46 For thus saith the Lord GOD; 1 I will bring up a company upon them, and will give them to be removed and spoiled. P 47 1 And the company shall 2 stone them with stones, and dispatch them with their swords; they shall slay their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire. P 48 1 Thus will I cause lewdness to cease out of the land, 3 that all women may be taught not to do after your lewdness. P 49 1 And they shall recompense your lewdness upon you, and ye shall bear the sins of your idols: and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD. P Ezekiel 24 The parable of the boiling pot (Picturing filthy Jerusalem) 1 Again in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, write thee the name of the day, even of this same day: the king of Babylon set himself against Jerusalem 4 this same day. 3 And utter a 5 parable unto the rebel- lious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; 6 Set on a pot, set it on, and also pour water into it: (Note - This portion of Ezekiel’s prophecy took place in the 9th year of King Zedekiah’s reign) Date - Jan 10th, 588 BC/AM 3412

4 Gather the pieces thereof into it, even every good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the 7 choice bones. 5 Take the choice of the flock, and burn also the bones under it, and make it boil well, and let them seethe the 7 bones of it therein. The promise of Judah/Jerusalem’s fall to Babylon (Fulfilled - II Ki 25 - 586 BC) 6 Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; 1 Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose scum is therein, and whose scum is not gone out of it! bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall up on it. P 7 For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; 8 she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust; 8 That it might cause fury to come up to take vengeance; 1 I have set her blood upon the top of a rock, that it should not be covered. P 9 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; 1 Woe to the 9 bloody city! I will even make the pile for fire great. P 10 1 Heap on wood, kindle the fire, consume the flesh, and spice it well, and let the bones be burned. P 11 1 Then set it 10 empty upon the coals thereof, that the brass of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be 11 molten in it, that the scum of it may be consumed. P 12 She hath wearied herself with lies, and her great scum went not forth out of her: 1 her scum shall be in the fire. P 13 In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthiness any more, 1 till I have caused my fury to rest upon thee. P 14 I the LORD have spoken it: 1 it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go

23:44 Both sisters (Israel and Judah) were spiritual and political prostitutes ( lewd women ). 24:12 Those who continue to “lie” to themselves light fires under themselves that cannot be extinguished. The worse thing a person can do is learn to lie to himself; to make excuses for why he lives the way he lives; to justify bad behavior. It’s called self- deception, and it will “cook” you every time. According to the Bible, there are ten areas in which we can be deceived ( Jere 37:9 ). Of the ten, the greatest deception is self-deception ( Gal 6:3 ). 24:13 God told His people, “Because I tried to fix you and you refused ( and thou wast not purged ), I will not attempt to fix you anymore. You are on your own.” Although God is very patience with His people, His patience can run out. Those who yield to the Potter’s hand and His authority in their lives and allow Him to “purge” them on a continual basis will find three benefits behind the purging: 1. A better life (Heb 12:11) – Righteousness is its own reward. Those who learn to accept “purging” (correction) avoid future hurt and pain. In short, they end up living longer lives (Prov 15:10). 2. A better witness (Jn 15:1-2) – The fruit of a Christian is another Christian. To bear fruit is to reproduce yourself as a believer; to win souls. More people come to God through “purged” believers then just about anything else (Psa 51:1-7-13). Those who learn to accept “purging” (instruction) will win more people to Christ. 3. A better future (Prov 1:20-23,33) – If God reveals His Word to you, He reveals His will to you; and those who do His will are going to have a wonderful future (Rev 2:26). Those who learn to accept “purging” (admonition) will enjoy a brighter future (Dan 12:3).
