P 24 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, I say, that ye are come to remembrance, 1 ye shall be taken with the hand. P 25 And thou, profane wicked 2 prince of Israel, 1 whose day is come, when iniquity shall have an end, P 26 Thus saith the Lord GOD; 1 Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high. P 27 1 I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until 3 HE come whose right it is; and I will give it HIM . P Ezekiel 22 The reasons for chastening (Note - This event took place in the 7th year of King Zedekiah’s reign) Date - 590 BC/AM 3410 1 Moreover the 8 word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, thou shalt shew her all her abominations. 3 Then say thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD, The city sheddeth blood in the midst of it, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to defile herself. 4 Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed; and hast defiled thy- self in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: there- fore have I made thee a reproach unto the heathen, and a mocking to all countries. 5 Those that be near, and those that be far from thee, shall mock thee, which art infamous and much vexed. 6 Behold, the princes of Israel, every one were in thee to their power to shed blood. 7 In thee have they 9 set light by fa- ther and mother: in the midst of thee have they dealt by 10 oppression with the stranger: in thee have they vexed the fa- therless and the widow.

22:1 Chapter 22 is all about the justification of divine judgment. Judah’s moral decay ran through every strata of her society: prophets (vs 25,28), priests (vs 26), princes (vs 27), and people (vs 29). A stronger indictment against a nation and its people wholl\ gone into moral corrXption coXld not be expressed. -Xdah and -erXsalem were destined to be refined in the 5efiner¶s furnace (vs 14-24). NOTE – Whenever the following sins appear in a society, that society is near collapse: * They despised the sanctity of life (vs 1-4,6) Question: Is America guilty of this sin? ( Jere 1:5a and Exo 21:22-23 ) * They undermined parental authorities (vs 7) Question: Is America guilty of this sin? * They took advantage of the poor and helpless (vs 7) Question: Is America guilty of this sin? (II Thess 3:7-10) * They became indifferent to the things of God (vs 8) Question: Is America guilty of this sin? ( Isa 5:20 & 19:14 and Prov 14:34 ) * They despised the Creator of life by their sexual perversion (vs 9-11) Question: Is America guilty of this sin? ( Gen 13:13 and Rom 1:21-32) * They sought material gain at any cost (vs 12-13) Question: Is America guilty of this sin? Can you say Wall Street? NOTE – Although the laws of Israel stood far above the legislation of any other nation, the habitual conduct of her people was in utter disregard to those laws. A law not kept is a lie.
