GENESIS 26:9

26 And after that came his brother out, and 1 his hand took hold on Esau’s heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them. 7 And the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, 14 She is my sister: for he 15 feared to say, She is my wife; lest, said he, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon. 8 And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was 16 sporting with Rebekah his wife. 9 And Abimelech called Isaac, and said, Behold, of a surety she is thy wife: and how saidst thou, She is my sister? And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, Lest I die for her.

25:26 Jacob’s name means “supplanter.” He is referred to 26 times in the NT (Mt 1:2 & 8:11 & 22:32, Mk 12:26, Lk 1:33 & 3:34 & 13:28 & 20:37, Jn 4:5-6,12, Acts 3:13 & 7:8,12-15,32,46, Rom 9:11-13 & 11:26 and Heb 11:9,20-21). Jacob is the 43rd generation from CHRIST . 25:28 Woe to the parent who “favors” one child over another, for it is always a recipe for disaster (Gen 28:6-9).
