JEREMIAH 30:8

23 Because they have committed villany in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours’ wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I have not commanded them; even I know, and am a witness, saith the LORD. Jeremiah sends a second letter to Babylon 24 Thus shalt thou also speak to Shem- aiah the Nehelamite, saying, 25 Thus speaketh the LORDOF HOSTS , the God of Israel, saying, Because thou hast sent letters in thy name unto all the people that are at Jerusalem, and to 1 Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying, 26 The LORD hath made thee priest in the stead of Jehoiada the priest, that ye should be officers in the house of the LORD, for every man that is mad, and maketh himself a prophet, that thou shouldest put him in prison, and in the stocks. 27 Now therefore why hast thou not reproved Jeremiah of Anathoth, which maketh himself a prophet to you? 28 For therefore he sent unto us in Babylon, saying, This captivity is long: build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them. 29 And Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet. 30 Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying, 31 Send to all them of the captivity, say- ing, Thus saith the LORD concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite; Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied unto you, and I sent him not, and he caused you to trust in a lie: 32 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Be hold, I will 2 punish Shemaiah the Nehelam- ite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall

he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the LORD; because he hath taught rebellion against the LORD. P Jeremiah 30 The promise of Israel’s restoration during CHRIST’S Kingdom (Fulfilled - Rev 20:4,6) Date Written - 597 BC/AM 3403 1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD , saying, 2 Thus speaketh the LORD God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book. 3 For, lo, 3 the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people 4 Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it. P 4 And these are the words that the LORD spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah. The promise of Great Tribulation to come, i.e., the DAY OF THE LORD (I Thess 5:1-3) (Fulfilled - Rev 6:5-8 & 13:5) 5 For thus saith the LORD ; We have heard a voice of 5 TREMBLING , of fear, and not of peace. P 6 Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth 5 TRAVAIL with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness? P 7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the 5 TIME OF JACOB’STROUBLE ; but he shall be saved out of it. P

1. II Ki 25:18 & Jere 21:1 2. Fulfilled - No doubt Shemaiah was “punished.” 3. Fulfilled - Rev 20:4 (Israel’s Restoration) “like no other” (vs 7) during the End Times, called “The DAY OF THE LORD ” (vs 5-8), God’s people were to look forward ( For, lo, the days come ) with expectancy to a day when they would be freed from every oppressor (vs 1-4,10) and ruled by both GOD THE FATHER and GOD THE SON (vs 9 and Rev 11:15 ). 4. Note - By 597 BC the ten tribes (called Israel) had all but disappeared. Many believe to this day that the ten tribes of Israel are still lost and that only the two tribes of Judah can be accounted for. But that’s a misnomer, for God Himself will reunite days. Meaning: He doesn’t lose track of His people ( Lk 2:36 ), even when they lose track of Him (Jn 21:1-12). 5. Fulfilled - Rev 6:5-8 & 13:5 (Great Trib; Day of the Lord) (See - Dan 12:1) Note - Despite the promise of a future suffering both Israel and Judah in the last

8 For it shall come to pass in that 5 DAY , saith the LORD OF HOSTS , that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him: P 30:7 Jeremiah referred to the Great Tribulation ( DAY OF THE LORD – I Thess 5:2 ) as the “ time of Jacob’s trouble .” If you remember, “Jacob’s trouble” was twofold: 1. He labored seven years for Rachel, even though he was tricked into marrying Leah 2. He labored another seven years for Rachel (Gen 29:15-28). NOTE – Like Jacob and his twofold trouble, the nation of Israel in the last days will also experience two laborious seven-year periods before her husband ( CHRIST ) can rightfully claim His bride: 1. The seven-year Holocaust The Holocaust lasted from November 10, 1938, in which Germany began its national “Day of Vengeance” against the Jews, called Kristallnacht, to 1945. Like Jacob, Israel labored (was taken advantage of ) for seven years during this time. Three years later in 1948 Israel was re-birthed as a nation ( Ezk 37:4 ). 2. The Seven-Year Tribulation Period Like Jacob, Israel will labor (be taken advantage of ) for yet another seven years during the Seven-year Tribulation Period (called Daniel’s Seventieth Week - Dan 9:24-27) right before the Second Coming of CHRIST (Rev 19:11-21), in which CHRIST will set up His 1,000-year Millennium (Rev 20:1-6), called the Kingdom Age (Dan 2:44-45).
