The Mission At Hand
" O nly starlight was illuminatin' the jungle floor," Henry continued. "I could barely make out the faces of the team with their camos and greased faces. We gathered together, and my first thought was, that I had the responsibility of gettin' all of my team back home alive to their families and friends. There was Garza, Reese, Pickard, Towers, Carson, Jacobs, Benelli, Thompson, and, of course Gunny, and myself. The only men that needed to be killed on this journey were the designated targets. I gathered the men around me. I took out my maps and turned on the red filter on my flashlight for stealth illumination." "'Guys, we're presently here,' I said as I pointed to our landin' coordinates, 'and our objective is here at this position. We are 25 miles out from that location. We are to proceed with caution, and no enemy engagement is anticipated where we are presently located. If we run into patrols, we are to avoid them. If engagement becomes necessary, only hatchets, suppressed weapons, and knives are to be used as our primary and only weapons. Stealth, gentlemen, is the call on this mission. Our presence will only be realized when our target is neutralized, and we will withdraw much faster than goin' in, and we'll meet back at this location for extraction. Jacobs, Carson, Garza, you men will watch our six. Gunny, Reese, Pickard, you will be our point men. Slow and steady. Benelli and Towers, communication. Thompson and I take opposite positions and
