congregation. We are naturally supernatural! I have been asked; ‘is it me or is it God?’ The answer is ‘both.’ It is God’s Spirit joining with your spirit to strengthen and comfort his people. Meetings filled with the charisms (gifts) of the Holy Spirit should have the characteristics of peace and order. This does not displace the fact that there can be strong emotion and deep heartfelt reaction to the conviction and grace of the Holy Spirit. This verse assures us there should not be verbal chaos in the meeting as was taking place in Corinth.  Spiritual songs fall under the category of the gift of prophecy  The song must encourage, strengthen and comfort the people  The four families of instruments are involved in the prophetic song  Singing in the Spirit is thanking, praising and praying  Spiritual songs are spontaneous  The Spiritual Song should have a positive effect upon the congregation and the unbeliever alike  Don’t go too long and absorb the gifting God is giving to someone else  The Spiritual Song should be tested/judged by other ministries
