The Royal Chef At Home: Easy Seasonal Entertaining

I n the Anglo-Indian writer Salman Rushdie’s novel “The Satanic Verses” one of the main characters, Gibreel, considers the benefits of turning London in to a steamy tropical Indian city. Such transformation would now include the scent of curry pots bubbling away in every neighborhood, along with the smell of toasting cumin, cori ander and chilies wafting through the air from Whitechapel to Kensington. Reading that always makes my mouth water. I love a good curry of almost any provenance, be it Indian, Thai, Indonesian or even just a mongrelized English curry. So coming up with a favorite family curry was really just too difficult. Instead I’ve decided to narrow the choices down to my top three. I think they are all perfectly delicious, though I’mmindful that curry is a very personal thing. Fiddle around with the spicing until you find the flavor that suits you best. A FAVORITE FAMILY CURRY
