The Life of Christ
The only thing the Bible mentions that the Father seeks is worship.
• He is always on the watch for true worship.
• It would take a new dimension of worship to bring these two rival religions together; the same is true today as true spiritual worship is becoming the new common denominator that brings people of all Christian faiths together.
Jn. 4:24 “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
Acceptable worship must follow this formula — a combination of worship according to the dictates of truth, along with a strong influence of the Holy Spirit. Much of the truth of how we worship is found in the Book of Psalms: Hands: • Lift: Ps 134:2: “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the LORD.” • Clap : Ps. 47:1: “Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! • Musical instruments: Ps. 150:3: “Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; praise Him with the lute and harp! Body: • Stand: Psa. 134:1: “Behold, bless the LORD, all you servants of the LORD, who by night stand in the house of the LORD!” • Bow: Psa. 95:6: “Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.” • Dance: Ps. 150:4: Praise Him with the timbrel and dance.” Mouth: • Sing: Psa. 9:1l: Sing praises to the LORD, who dwells in Zion!” • Speak your praises: Ps. 106:48: And let all the people say, “ Amen! ” Praise the LORD! • Shout: Ps. 47:1: Shout to God with the voice of triumph!” Jn. 4:25-26 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us.” 26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.”
The Samaritans, like the Jews, were anticipating their Messiah, which helps explain why Jesus came to them.
• Jesus announces His Messiahship to this people by first ministering to one of their choice sinners.
• On top of that, He spoke to and even taught a woman, something a Jewish religious teacher would rarely do.
Gen. 49:22 provides a prophetic insight into J esus’ ministry to the Samaritans.
• “Joseph is a fruitful bough, a fruitful bough by a well; His branches run over the wall” (Gen. 49:22).
• The similarities between Jesus and Joseph include: Both rejected by brothers, Both influenced their generation at age 30, Both were misunderstood, Both became deliverers of the world!
• Jesus is that fruitful Branch by the well that went over the wall of cultural prejudice.

Jn. 4:27-34 And at this point His disciples came, and they marveled that He had been speaking with a woman; yet no one said, “What do You seek?” or, “Why do You speak with her?” 28 So the
