The Life of Christ

• Blessed are the pure in heart; they shall see GOD — up real close!

There appears to be different positions of glory in the afterlife.

• 1 Cor. 15:39-42 illustrates different levels of glory:

All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds. There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption (1 Cor. 15:39-42).

Flesh: men, beasts, fish, birds, so also is the resurrection of the dead

Celestial and Terrestrial bodies: sun, moon, stars

Mt. 7:24-27 “Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts upon them, may be compared to a wise man, who built his house upon the rock. 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded upon the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and does not act upon them, will be like a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand. 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house; and it fell, and great was its fall.”

The Sea of Galilee served as a natural setting for this parable.

• The sand surrounding the lake was rock hard during the hot summer months, but a wise builder would dig down, as far as ten feet below the surface sand to the bedrock, knowing that this was the only way to erect a foundation able to withstand the winter rains.
