Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World
into the family of God without weeping for souls… for the Harvest that is white and ready . JESUS CAME TO SEEK AND SAVE THE LOST! Images of men, women and children trapped in a burning building can cause us to thank God that we are not also perishing in the flames. But who among us would be so moved by the perishing that we would take no thought of our own lives but rush headlong into the flames to rescue the dying. WE SHOULD SNATCH SOULS FROM HELL’S FLAMES. A great soulwinner, Charles Spurgeon, once challenged, “If people are determined to go to hell, they should have to step over our bodies to get there.” Speaking of concentrating on the Resurrection, Ian Thomas wrote, “I am recovering the claim that JESUS WAS NOT CRUCIFIED IN A CATHEDRAL BETWEEN TWO CANDLES, BUT ON A CROSS BETWEEN TWO THIEVES; on the town garbage heap; …the kind of place where cynics talk smut, thieves curse and soldiers gamble. Because that is where He died and that is what He died about… That is where churchmen ought to be, and what churchmen should be about!” My response is an echo of Gordon Aeschliman’s . “LET’S HEAR IT FOR DIRTY CHRISTIANITY THAT REACHED A SCUM LIKE ME… that got down in the gutter and grime and allowed the love of God to explode into my heart and turn me into a brand-new creation!” In our generation, we must face the resounding declaration of C.T. Studd, “Some wish to live within the sound of church and chapel bell. I want to run a rescue shop within a yard of hell.”
