Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World
knowest. ” “ Prophesy – Oh ye dry bones, hear the Word of the Lord.”
After I finished the message, I gave an invitation to anyone who wanted to receive Jesus as their Lord. Then, prompted by the Holy Spirit. I directed for anyone who wanted special prayer to come stand before me and I would pray for them. After a few people had me pray for their needs, a young African American girl slowly sauntered up to me. She stood stoically before me, waiting for my direction. I asked her name, and she told me her name was Anane . She looked to be in her early twenties with her hair all done up in braids with just a tinge of sadness in her eyes. I asked her, “Anane, how can I pray for you today?” She quickly responded, “I need prayer for my brother.” In my many years of ministry experience, when someone asks for prayer for their brother, it is because of one of a few things. They need prayer for their brother because he is sick, away from home, on drugs or in prison. I took her by the hand and said, “Anane, how can I pray for your brother? ” Her answer shook me to my core. She responded, “I need prayer for my brother because he is buried underneath the World Trade Center !” I hugged her and prayed for her brother who was, in her words, “buried underneath the World Trade Center.” I had not been ready for that. Once again, I realized we were ministering in times and situations we had never been in before. God was using us to bring forth His Words of Life to people who had lost all hope.
