Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World

I wasn’t sure I heard her right until she repeated

herself. “I don’t think you should go!”

Through all of my outreach trips across America and trips to other dangerous places in the world, she had never said that to me. I think we were both surprised she was feeling this way. So, we talked about it a little bit more and she asked, “Will you at least pray about it?” I assured her I would pray about leaving in a couple of days to go to Indonesia with our disaster relief team. We both knew deep down that I would be going. But Dot had a check in her spirit. She had a little nudge from the Holy Spirit that this missions trip to Indonesia was different. She is very sensitive to the Holy Spirit, and she knew to caution me. I received her counsel and took it to heart. There was something going to happen on this trip we had never experienced before. So, after we prayed, we were in complete agreement regarding the trip. But she had a prompting from the Holy Spirit that we should all be on “high alert.” So, Dot assembled an intercessory prayer group from across the nation that would get on conference calls regularly and pray for us and cover us in intercession until we stepped foot back on American soil. Thank God she did this. We could not know until later how these prayer warriors stood in the gap for us and ultimately for our survival as we ministered for Jesus in the jungles of Indonesia. Within a few minutes I said to Dot, “I prayed about it. I’m going.”
