With what funds we had among us, we purchased large bags of beans, rice, potatoes, and every ounce of food that was available for us to buy. When the coast was clear and the police had left the area, we went back inside the refugee camp and gave the food supplies to a few of the mothers being held there. While we were buying the food, we also purchased a few soccer balls to take back to the children hoping having them would bring smiles to their faces. As we drove away from the refugee camp this time, we knew they had some food and we saw a few soccer balls being kicked around the courtyard by the kids. We thanked God for His provision. Later in the day, we gave away more food and supplies to families the Lord put in our path. Of course, we also ministered to them and shared the love of Jesus with them. We connected with a young missionary couple in the area, and we prayed with them and encouraged them to continue serving Jesus in Myanmar, especially during this critical time. Jerry Davis gave this precious couple a water purifying kit so they could have clean drinking water for themselves and their neighbors. Late that afternoon, we went to an area in Myanmar that was covered up with extremely beautiful Buddhist temples. Their beauty was jaw-dropping. As one of the most devoutly Buddhist places on earth, thousands of beautiful Burmese temples or pagodas have been constructed. Some of the most beautiful temples in Southeast Asia are found in Myanmar. For example, Myanmar’s most famous Buddhist temple pagodas is the Shwedagon Pagoda.
